autoMedia.com Names Top 10 New Cars for 2012 Under $20,000, Over 30 MPG 0

Posted on May 04, 2012 by Automotive News

Torrance, CA (PRWEB) November 30, 2011

The expert editors at autoMedia.com, a trusted source for new car buying, research, and reviews, tested the new cars for the 2012 model year with a base price under $ 20,000 and an EPA-rated (or estimated) combined city/highway mileage rating of a fuel-efficient 30 MPG or more.

According to autoMedia.com, most sourceswhen touting mileage numbersuse the best highway mileage number, but drivers dont always and only drive on the highway, which is why autoMedia.com says it first narrowed the list of under $ 20,000 fuel-efficient new cars down to those that earn a combined city/highway 30 mpg. Real life means a combination of driving on the highway, around town, and sitting in traffic. Real life in this economy also means keeping spending to a minimum, but still getting the most for the money, said Deborah Neal, editorial director of autoMedia.com.

autoMedia.com considered all 20 new cars on sale today that meet the under $ 20,000/over 30-mpg formula, and determined the 10 best from there based upon their total packages of exterior size, interior room, standard convenience and safety features, and overall driving experience. Topping the list of winners is the 2012 Mazda3 with SKYACTIV technology and the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze ECO. Read about all autoMedia.com Top 10 Best New Cars for 2012: Under $ 20,000, Over 30 MPG.

Consumers who either cant or dont want to spend a lot of money on a new car have a great selection to choose from in 2012, said Marshall J. Flemion, president of autoMedia.com. New car buyers on a budget dont have to sacrifice style, features, or great mpg when spending under $ 20,000.

Question by Vicky: Hyundai SUV Santa Fe?
As you all are aware that Hyundai is planning to lauch its new SUV Model Santa Fe in India. Any one have any idea about its price in India???

Best answer:

Answer by chandru
Santa Fe may cost around 15lacs . With 153bhp and 2188cc petrol engine it has a top speed of just 111km/hr but its looks are good and its interiors are also fine.Chevrolet Captiva,HondaCRV,Maruti Grand Vitarra and Hyundai Tucson are its competitors.
Captiva is a good choice .It is 17lacs and its a diesel with 148bhp and 1991cc its perfomance is good and its looks are also good and something like the CRV. It also has a good mileage of 10-11km/lt
CRV is a petrol its perfomance is simply superb and gives u a experience like handling a sedan. But its expensive and comes under the price tag of 19lacs.
Safari with its new 2.2VT DICOR engine gives a good mileage of 12-14km/lt and it is 2100cc which was earlier 2900cc and it has been reduced to give a better mileage and a better pickup which it assures to do so.

If u dont mind about the price then simply choose the CAPTIVA for diesel or CRV for petrol .
If u are looking for a cheaper one then choose SAFARI.
